House of Sport - Cardiff

Capital Floors Ltd have recently completed this prestigious 1800m2 Sports Hall. Working for CMB Engineering, who have close links with House of Sport. The Facility is where Welsh Netball and the Celtic Dragons both train and now play their Matches. The facility has been purposely refurbished to house Sky TV to televise the events. There are primarily two Competition Netball Courts, the red court is for Welsh Netball and the green is for the Celtic dragons. There is also a full size roll out temporary court that is installed on to the timber floor for competitions, where retractable seating is then put into position for spectators to watch the event.

The Sprung Floor – the flooring is a Junckers Unobat45 sprung floor consisting of 23mm sprung battens and 22mm solid Beech Junckers prefinished Hardwood flooring.  The floor was strengthened by using solid packing between the battens set 5mm lower than the batten height in the positions of the retractable seating, so when in use the floor is fully supported and when the seats are retracted, the floor become sprung again. The floor was installed in a 3 week time frame by a 5 man Team. Capital Floors Ltd are approved Junckers Floor contractors, providing a 25 year warranty in conjunction with Junckers Ltd.
